A Great Buy

I have bought a great book by Sabrina Ward Harrison, The True and the Questions Journal (Diary).

"I journal to understand my life as I'm living it. I use my journals as a place to put the things that spill out over the edges of my life: photo negatives, scraps of paper, poems I have heard and loved, my sorrow and epiphanies, the true and the questions. My journals have become guideposts for my life. Maybe it's the same way for you, and so I invite you inside my world. Let us live more fully and deeply together." - Sabrina Ward Harrison"

Sabrina Ward Harrison hand writes her books and they are just beautiful to look at and a great inspiration for young artists. She would definately encourage you to be writing or illustrating your own artistic journal.

Old New Furniture

I found an old battered chest of drawers in my garage. I just thought they were a gorgeous shape and just a waste gathering dust and cobwebs in the garage. I will be moving into a house in Belfast come September and since I am a student I can't really afford new furniture so I thought it would be a good idea to sand them down and re-paint them. I think they turned out pretty well.

Italian Gangster Night Poster

This poster was influenced by various dvd covers of the classic gangster films., the colours, the font (which was got of the website dafont.com). I gathered the images from google and masked them off to make them look like torn pieces of paper (or eveidence).

Mia Mullen Jewellery Flyer

Mia's logo design was influenced by her jewellery. Mia's necklaces are recognised as a round disc shape with 2 bars coming through a hole in the middle, as you can see in the first photograph of her work. So I took the disc idea and incorporated the 2 M's of her name into the logo to represent the 2 bars used in her necklaces.

This is a logo and business card I designed for a Beauty Salon where I live. Since I am from the Mournes I incorporated the sense of mountains into the logo, I included colours that show this also. I thought as well the brush stroke effect could also look like eyeshadow or nail varnish.

DJ Skip-p Logo

I was commissioned to design a logo for an up and coming DJ. The logo icon is based on the shape and pattern of a vinyl/record.

Boley Fair Poster

This poster was designed for my local pub. They wanted to advertise the line up they had organised for the Boley Fair (local event). The colours I chose were green and yellow, which are the colours of our Parish. I also placed an image of a pint of Guinness that has droplets in the shape of shamrocks, which ads a great but subtle ethnic effect. I used a sans serif typeface so the type was clear and easily read.

Cocktail Menu

I designed this menu based on the theme "Summer". I included circles to represent bubbles and i also included a shape that in my opinion lookes like the top of a cocktail glass. The fonts I chose are mainly sans serif. I wanted the rest of the Menu to be simple, plus it makes it easier to read.

Summer Cocktail Poster

This is a poster I designed for a Restaurant in Newry to promote their new Cocktail Menu. I have used colours that in my opinion represent the "Summer Time". I also included a lot of circles in my imagery to symbolise bubbles coming from the cocktail glass. This font is perfect for the fun beverage, I got this in the website dafont.com.
